I always loved going through my grandmother’s jewelry box and seeing her silver heirloom pieces that showed their age and reminded me of the long ago times she and her mom wore them to opera and balls. I sat there imagining the lights of the crystal chandeliers and music, glow of the silk gowns. That’s why, when I created this set that looked so much like them, I let it develop a natural patina.
